ALPFA Orange County presented the 15th Annual OC Women of ALPFA Symposium
IRIVINE, CA: JUNE 6, 2017 – The Orange County professional chapter of ALPFA (the Association of Latino Professionals For America) led by Chapter President Rose Arevalo, successfully presented the 15th Annual OC Women of ALPFA event for the professional development of Latinas. ALPFA is a national organization that empowers and develops Latino men and women as leaders. Focusing on the theme of “Paving the Way for Latinas in the US: The Roadmap to Power” and professional development of Latinas/Women, the event attracted chapter members, student members, professionals, corporate sponsors and supporters.
Event included a VIP panel of speakers: Elena Einstein, Ph.D., presenting her doctoral study on Active Engagement & Career Outcomes, Lorraine Quintanar (co-founder of the ALPFA OC Chapter) sharing her insight on empowerment on the leadership panel, Maureen Umana, spoke about financial empowerment strategies, and Rebeca Diaz shared her insights of a career at KPMG.
“Participating in the Women of ALPFA events are important because they offer a unique opportunity to discuss and learn how we can take action to support and advance Latinas.” said Elena Einstein, Ed.D., “ALPFA and their WOA program create an environment where individuals can network, mentor and be mentored, strengthen leadership skills, and support their communities.”
The keynote was presented by speaker, immigrant rights advocate, businesswoman, and author; Julissa Arce. Julissa Arce shared her inspirational story of professional growth, personal empowerment, and her new book, My Underground American Dream. The event concluded with a special networking opportunity and book signing from author Julissa Acre.
